Your tax-deductible donations help us keep pets and the people who love them together where they belong.

At Second Chance Animal Rescue, we not only rescue, rehome and rehabilitate displaced and abandoned pets, we also support pet owners who are doing it tough to keep their four-legged friends happy, healthy and at home by their side.

As a not-for-profit organisation we receive no ongoing government funding, so our life-saving work relies heavily on the kindness and generosity of our supporters just like you.

Every donation to SCAR – big or small – goes a long way to help us:

  • Support the veterinary, behavioural and emotional wellbeing of every homeless animal who walks through our doors.
  • Provide our community with accessible veterinary options when crisis hits.
  • Assist pet owners going through hardship to keep their beloved pets by their side via our many Outreach Programs.

*Due to the physical nature of working in the shelter, volunteer roles may involve significant amounts of manual handling, and a reasonable level of fitness is required. Manual handling includes sustaining repetitive movements of lifting/bending, pushing/pulling, twisting/turning and walking for extended periods of time. Some heavy lifting up to 15kg may be required.
