By including Second Chance Animal Rescue Inc. in your will, you’ll be providing veterinary care, rehabilitation and rehoming services shelter for homeless animals long after your lifetime.
We think it’s important for you to be aware where bequest money actually goes. Did you know that almost all animal shelters in Victoria act as pounds, which often requires them to euthanize healthy animals to make way for other strays? As a no-kill shelter, we don’t have these requirements. Our purpose is to keep animals safe, healthy and happy until they find loving homes. That means that your bequest money will be used to save lives.
Second chance bequest program
(including care of your pet in your will)
One of the hardest things for pet owners to face is becoming unable to care for their beloved animals. If that time comes, you can rest easy knowing that your pets will be taken care of through our Bequest Program.
The program allows you to provide for your pet's care by stating in your will that they have been left to Second Chance Animal Rescue. This requires specific wording, and a minimum bequest of $5,000 must be provided to help pay for ongoing care and veterinary costs during your pet’s life.
When you bequeath your animal to us, they’re not only our legal responsibility--they become part of our family. We care deeply about placing your pet in a loving home. Foster homes are chosen with your pet’s needs and temperament in mind, to ensure a permanent match. We regularly check in with their new home to make sure your animals are healthy and happy. The money you leave for their care will cover all future veterinary fees.
