Our Ambassadors

Here at SCAR, we are fortunate to work with some truly extraordinary and generous ambassadors.

Champions of the human-animal bond, they donate their time supporting and raising awareness for the work we do as an organisation, and advocating for the lives of the vulnerable animals in our care!

They have made such a valuable contribution to the work we do here at SCAR and are always willing to help us in our mission to ensure that our community pets and the people who love them, can stay together where they belong.

They are passionate. They are leaders. They are SCAR.

We are so proud and grateful for the commitment of these compassionate animal lovers, and we’re so excited to see these partnerships grow as we continue to work together to make a difference for people and their pets in our community who need us most.

Meet Lara Shannon

As a regular on Australian TV screens and radio for over 20 years you might recognise this passionate face from Channel 10’s Pooches at Play, which Lara is both the Executive Producer and Host of. Lara is a certified dog trainer, behaviourist and pet food nutritionist, and is one of Australia’s most well-known animal welfare advocates and canine experts. Through her education work, Lara reaches millions of Australians each year, helping to improve the lives of companion animals and promoting responsible pet ownership for the benefit of both pets and the people who love them.

In between her TV show and dog training commitments, Lara is still regularly featured in the media and can also be seen presenting on stage at pet expos, seminars and events throughout the year with her cheeky rescue pups, ‘Dynamite Darcy’ and Vindi by her side!

You can grab Lara’s two books, World of Dogs and Eat, Play, Love (Your Dog)published by Hardie Grant Publishing, where all good books are sold across Australia, USA and the UK.

We have always been so delighted and proud to work alongside Lara and have her endless support behind what we do here! Here’s to many more years together!

Meet JaWoodle

Josh, known online as JaWoodle, is an online content creator, focussed mainly on making gaming related comedic videos on YouTube.

Josh has built a significant following on YouTube and Twitch and is proud to represent Melbourne in the online gaming space. Known for his high energy and enthusiasm, he is the face of a passionate community of incredible people who support him in his career and philanthropic endeavours.

Josh is an ‘animal loving tragic’, and believes that all animals, big and small, deserve the same love and care as any other being.

In 2022, for his birthday, Josh held a 12-Hour Charity Stream Event on his Twitch channel to benefit SCAR. We were completely overwhelmed when Josh popped by the shelter to pass on a mind-blowing  $33,020.00 that he and his supportive network of followers raised for SCAR and the animals in our care!! We are so honoured to work with Josh and cannot wait to see where the future takes us!
